We thought Halloween was going to be a blast this year, having a little one and all. Unfortunately, our Little Man has come down with a case of the runs, which has resulted in a horrendous diaper rash. I know, I know...this is not what you want to be reading right now, so we will spare you the details. Needless to say, we have had a VERY upset baby all weekend long. I did manage to get him into his THIRD Halloween costume for the week yesterday for a short, happy period of time. We walked him around the Marina and found some great decorated houses. But we did return home early as Jake's tush hurts if he sits in his stroller too long.

Imagination Parade
Being the day before Halloween, Jake's daycare had an Imagination Parade today. Each classroom was assigned an animal, and each made costumes to wear for the parade. Jake's class was assigned frogs. All we provided were white onesies and socks, and the teachers tie-dyed and sewed these adorable outfits. The actual parade was simply walking around the block, but boy were they a spectical! Jake sat in his group buggy facing his friends, and squealed/talked the entire parade (all of the other kids just kind of sat there starring!). It was quite adorable! He really is quite the social butterfly these days.

Jake comes to the Gap Halloween party

Yesterday was quite a day for our Little Man. After a long day at day care, he came over to the Gap to hang out with Mom and Dad and the Gap folks. Of course, we had to put him in his bumble bee costume, which officially he is way to big for (we can not button any of the bottom snaps as he is too long, and his arms barely fit in the arm holes because of his little belly). For the first hour, he was giggling away, flirting with ALL of the girls. He won over many new fans and had a great time. By 4:00 though, he was exhausted and ultimately had a MAJOR spit-up accident all over his costume and me. Needless to say, we made a beeline for the door and headed home. While he took a good nap on the way home, he was quite the terror last night, with many crying episodes, keeping Josh and I up most of the night. Lesson learned: too much stimulation for Jake right now is NOT a good thing! But boy...he was so darn cute to show off!
(BTW- my team all dressed up as Where's Waldo characters, hence the red striped shirt I was wearing...random costume I know!)

He has found his thumb!!
We wondered how long it was going to take, but it looks like Jake has finally started sucking his thumb instead of stuffing his entire fist in his mouth. Today he came to the Gap Halloween party in his bumble bee costume as you can see from the picture. More pics from that event should come shortly. But we were so excited to see the progress on the thumb, as this is supposed to be a great self-soothing method for him in the middle of the night (instead of us scrambling at every cry to get him his pacifer)!!

Jake's first school picture

Hard to believe that Jake had his first school picture last week, at only 4.5 months old, but he did. Apparently he was in good spirits for the individual picture, but by the time the group one came around he was fighting back sleep and in a cranky mood (oh yes...you can tell from the picture!). Two babies were gone for picture day, as normally there are 10 kids in his newborn-1 year old class. We've been very happy with Bright Horizons as a day care from the beginning, thank goodness!

Jake chats with Aunt Lindsay
Mr. Chatty Cathy....it's like we're actually having conversations with him the way Jake babbles back to us these days. Here is Aunt Lindsay just chatting away with Jake...

Jake LOVES the bath!
Jake turns over for the first time!
Jake has been trying for weeks now, but last Tuesday, while Grandma Lee was watching him, he officially figured out how to roll from his tummy to his back! In no time he is going to be crawling and walking!

Way behind on this blogging thing...

Jake is now 4.5 months old, and everyone keeps telling us to start one of these blogs. We are having a hard time keeping up with sending all of the fun pics and videos to friends and family, so we're going to give this blogging thing a try instead.
Family updates: Jenny is back to work now 5 weeks, still wishing that she could be home with Jake all day. Josh is still at Tempo Payments running the show. Jake is going to daycare across the street from the Gap three days a week, and the other two days he is lucky enough to have his amazing Grandmas come and spend the day with him. We're not sure if it is being around all of the kids at Daycare or if he is just a fast learner, but Jake has turned into quite the Chatty Cathy. He smiles and giggles at us all day and night (yes...he is still up twice to three times a night!). I'm going to attempt to post a few of our fun outings this past month, so dates will be all out of order, but we'll get on track in no time.
Jake meets Ben Bolger
Yippee....we FINALLY made it down to Monterey to have our babies meet. While they were still too young to really interact, it was so much fun to see them together. Jake seems like double the size of little cute Ben Bolger. We thought it would be a hilarious idea to get the boys dressed up in their Halloween costumes early and take pictures of them together for their first meeting. Wow...it was just an ADORABLE site!
Saying good-bye to Tia Erica

Jake's first Giants Game
Well...we (Jake and I) made it nearly the entire season without going to a game, but in the end we figured it would be quite a shame to miss out on Jake attending his first Giants game at 4 months old. We were quite worried about the logistics, as Jake still hates being carried in the Ergo, and we can't take a stroller into the Park. In the end, Jake got in his Ergo without a peep. We first met the Zimmermans for lunch....amazing to see that Jake was nearly the size of Riley, and she is 5 months older than him! Afterwards we headed to our seats on the club level (Thank you Mark and Gail!) where Jake was quite the crowd pleaser with all of his gear on
and his big smile. He ended up sleeping through 3 entire innings, and was well behaved for the remainder of the time...he knows better than to disturb his Pappa while he is watching sports! =)

Visiting the pumpkin patch
The best part of Halloween for me is most definitely carving the pumpkins...as most of you know. So, of course, we had to find the one pumpkin patch in the city and take Jake for his first pumpkin experience. Unfortunately, he wasn't feeling so well that day, and pretty much freaked out when we held up a pumpkin directly in front of him. But, we were able to get some cute pics before his meltdown...
