Just writing that title still seems so very, very strange. How in the world can it be 20 years since I've graduated high school? I'm still so happy with the decision that I made choosing Notre Dame, an all girls school, as my high school. I became so much more confident and met so many amazing friends in my four years. I was also super prepared for heading off to college given the large workload and advanced classes offered there. The friendships were most definitely the absolute best part of school though. Of our 100 person class, there was a tight group of 12 of us who really spent a lot of time together and leaned on each other. Many of us stayed in close contact through college and even a few years afterwards, but the years have added up, and it has been many, many years since the majority of us have gotten together. Our reunion was the perfect opportunity, so friends flew in from DC, drove down from Santa Rosa and up from LA just to experience it all together. We had a really fun, mellow potluck just the smaller group of friends on Friday night to begin the weekend. While it had been so many years, we all look and act nearly exactly the same, and we picked up just where we left off, talking for many, many hours. The old yearbooks came out, along with pictures and journals, and recalling all of the fun high school days was just a blast. Saturday was the more formal reunion back at Notre Dame, and nearly 50% of our class showed up (only about 20% of the class from the previous year was in attendance). We had cocktail hour, and then dinner at one big long table in our old dining room. Afterwards of course we had to head out to a bar, where karaoke and other shenanigans ensued. I'm so thankful and excited to be reconnected with these amazing, confident, brilliant ladies again. We refuse to let this much time pass again without getting together. Love you NDB ladies!
