Holding Hands

The girls are finally interested in holding hands with us...I don't remember it taking this long with Jake, but Colbie and Addy are very independent little girls already (yikes!).  Anyways, Josh caught this one with all three holding hands...yeah!  The cutest is that now that they are interested in holding hands, they love to play ring around the rosey which just brings back memories of being a kid!

Playdate time

Sunday we had the Reseburgs and Mr. Dan Darcy over for a playdate.  Jeremy, who is 2 months younger than the girls, was in heaven watching the three-ring-circus that is our home these days.  By the end of the playdate Jake was telling us all how much he loved little Jeremy.  It was sweet to watch Jake as he is just so used to handling younger kids with his sisters always around.   Dan brought his down Henry, and Addy and Jake both loved him, but poor Colbie would just scream "no way!" anytime the dog would come anywhere near her.

Somehow I walked out of the room for 1 minute this morning, to come back and find this!

Helper

Jakey is now really trying to help me with his sisters while I attempt to make dinner and watch the kids by myself every night these days.   I caught this one on Monday- Colbie and Addy love to now sit in Jake's lap, and to watch him try to read to them just melted my heart!!  Such a good big brother (most of the time at least!)

Endless Summer...

The amazing weather just makes Summer feels like it will go on and on.  We've been heading to the park many evenings just to cool off and get out the last bits of energy before bedtime with Jake.   Caught this one as he was relaxing on the swing:

First 3D Movie!

Jakey saw his first 3D movie this weekend- Planes.  While the movie wasn't all that great, it was hilarious watching Jake put his special 3D glasses on and off repeatedly for 1.5 hours trying to figure out just how they worked.

Cooking with Nana

Jake and Nana did some baking together a few days ago.  Something very special about watching Jake bake with Nana, just as my sister and I used to bake with Grandma Jennie. 

 

Happy Day

"Happy Day, Happy Day, Happy Day"...Colbie has decided that everyday is a Happy Birthday now, and she loves to scream "Happy Day" frequently throughout the day.  It was absolutely perfect for Granddaddy's very low-key dinner yesterday for his birthday.  Poor Addy and Jake weren't in the best of moods, but at least Colbie was keeping everyone festive and happy with her excitement.  We owe you a redo for dinner Dad, with Josh in attendance and all our kids in better moods!

AYSO- Jake's first year and first official soccer practice!

Jake has been playing soccer with Soccer Shots at his school for two years now, but he is finally old enough to join the AYSO League in San Carlos.  Josh was super super bummed to miss Jake's first game today (he is traveling all weekend for a friend's wedding), but both Grandpas came to give Jakey support.   Jake did great with the warm ups, dribble dills and running, but once the actually small practice games came around, he was already exhausted and sweaty and just not into it.  So, we've got lots of practicing to do here at home.  It felt like all of the 4 year olds of San Carlos were out on the field today- it's definitely a BIG deal in this city!!

 

Mia's 1st Birthday

We went to Mia Drogin's 1st birthday party a few days back.  As Mia is one of the few kids of similar age as Colbie and Addison, we had to go and wish her a big happy birthday.  Jake had fun in the jumpy house while the girls had fun on the trampoline.

Bye-Bye Tia Erica!

We've had an amazing summer with you Tia Erica, and we can't believe that it is already time to say good-bye.   Good luck in Morocco again this year, and please be safe!  We can't wait until you're back home again soon.  We love you!

 

 We had a play afternoon at my parents house so that we could say good-bye to Tia.  The kids ended up playing with all of our old toys, which is always funny to watch.
