Seeing the Zimmerman's

We very briefly got to see the Zimmerman's on Sunday, as we were over in the East Bay. Neither Jake nor Riley wanted to sit in a restaurant with us parents, so we definitely have to just meet in a park or play place next time. The highlight for the babies were the balloons the nice ladies in Nordstroms gave them.

(Jake is wearing this adorable outfit for the first time given to us by Phil and Carolina before he was born. He was the cutest looking Old Golfer man baby all day long!)

Jake and Taylor

We had a great dinner at Emily and Billy Schofield's house on Saturday night. It was so fun to watch Jake and Taylor (who was born a whole 3 days after Jake) interact since they are so close in age. Taylor is nearly walking already but without any teeth, while Jake is just now crawling but onto his 8th tooth this weekend...perfect proof that every baby really does develop at their own pace!

The Zoo!!

Today we took Jake to the SF Zoo for the first time. We were super excited to see if Jake would actually react to the animals yet. Well.....it looks like Jake is still a little bit too young to be going to the zoo. He really seemed confused more than anything. He did get to see penguins, bears, monkeys and lions. But, he was fast asleep by the time we got to the rhinos, giraffes, zebras and gorillas! Maybe by this summer he will be more interested!

Jake with his Great Grandma Jennie

My Grandma Jennie came with my Mom to watch Jake last week. It was incredibly sweet to watch her light up when she saw Jake. She was able to feed him his breakfast...what a sight for me to watch Jake's Great Grandma Jennie feed my son!

Jake and Jake

We stopped by to wish Little Jake Drogin a happy 1st Birthday yesterday! It was the first time the two Jakes could actually interact, which was very sweet to watch.
So, Happy Birthday Jake Drogin (and it was wonderful to see you Christina and Jason!)

Basketball!

In honor of March Madness we pulled out the great basketball net that Auntie Lindsay got Jake this past Christmas. Jake immediately started playing with it, and promptly scored! We've got an athlete in the making!

He's officially CRAWLING!!!

We thought he was going to skip it, but Jake is officially crawling! We still think that walking is right around the corner, but Jake is enjoying getting around on his knees for now!
Watch out Mama and Papa!

Enjoying the sunshine

what an amazing weekend it was weather-wise! We couldn't help ourselves from being on walks, runs or at the park most of the weekend.

Jake clapping

Jake seems to be clapping all day long these days, and it's very sweet to watch. What do you think? =) (He has apricots all over his face if you're wondering what that stuff is!)
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Jake in China Town

This past weekend, Jake and I met up with a bunch of my friends in China Town to try some of the best spots. Jake was in a fantastic mood, no complaining, and all smiles. To reward him, I took him to a music class in the evening which he LOVED. He was the hit of the whole class, banging on the drum and shaking his rattles the entire time, showing the younger babies how it was done. (Of course at the end of class, I got the hard pressure sales job from the teacher, as Jake so obviously loved the class and wanted more!).

Jake loves the feeling of motion, especially being pushed around on his Big Boy fire truck:

Mr. Mischief, part 2

And, while Papa was away, Jake discovered how to get himself to the always enticing TV stand. What did he find....endless fun DVDs to pull out and knock over! No more perfectly organized DVDs for Papa ever again!

Mr. Mischief, part 1

Jake has really started figuring out how to get himself around. As he doesn't officially crawl, he has figured out how to sit/scoot/roll/lean/grab until he gets to where he wants to go. This past weekend every time I left the room, I'd come back to Jake discovering something new!
Here he is upending my diaper bag:

Happy 9 Month Birthday!

Yep, today it has offically been 9 months since Jake joined us. Wow...to think that the 9 months of pregnancy felt like it took 3 years to get through, and yet the first 9 months of his life have zoomed by in an instant!

Here is our little Birthday boy:

Josh has left Mama and Jake home alone this weekend, so who knows what kind of adventures we'll get ourselves into =)

Jake's 9 month appointment

Oh my goodness...did I really just write that title? Jake is turning NINE months old this week...how did that happen so quickly?
He was a cheery, cheery boy all through the appointment, and he handled his second flu shots like a champ. Here are his latest stats:

Length: 28 inches (right on average)

Head: 47.5cm (continues to hit that 97th percentile...gotta love it!)

Weight: 19lbs, 7oz. (The Doctor insisted that this puts Jake in the 30th percentile of weight for his age...how is that possible??)

The list continues....

Oh yes...the list of sicknesses Jake has brought home from daycare continues this week.
Monday I got the call at work early in the morning explaining that Jake had PINK EYE!!! Ahhhh!! I remember getting pink eye a few times while in elementary school, and it was really unpleasant. Of course I immediately thought of how contagious it is, and how fun it was going to be to have both Josh and I home with pink eye as well.
Anyways, I picked him up, called in a prescription to Walgreens and went home. Poor Jake really did look totally and completely miserable, with his pink, swollen eyes, runny nose and cough and gunk building up in his eyes. He ended up sleeping lots and strangely, woke up SO much better today. We're keeping with the eye drops, but he looks half way back to normal, and so far Josh and I have managed not to get it yet. Yipee!
So, the tally now sits even higher: pink eye, bronchitis, respiratory virus, hand-foot-mouth disease and 100 colds...gotta love the first 6 months of day care!

Runny Nose go away!

Jake's endless cold will just NOT go away! His poor body is trying to fight it off with lots of sleep and smiles, but his nose just won't stop running! (of course...Mom always wiping his nose is just SO irritating too! =)
