A & C Go To Their First Movie!

I took A & C to see a real movie at the movie theater yesterday.  I knew it would be a stretch, but Cinderella is one of their favorite princesses, and I hoped it could be an interesting test to see if they are ready for the movies.  Well...there were about 20 minutes of previews and a mini Frozen movie before Cinderella even began, so I knew it was certainly going to be a struggle once the movie actually started.   I'm not sure what I was thinking picking this movie in hindsight, as it is not animated, and therefore, less interesting to them immediately.  The big bag of popcorn and little treat bags that they received upon sitting down got us through about the first hour of being seated without too much of a fuss.  The last hour, especially for Colbie, turned into standing up, sitting down, standing up, sitting down, singing random songs to herself, and basically endless fidgeting.  I haven't mentioned that we went with a friend of mine and her 4 month old baby son, who was a complete angel, without a single cry or struggle the entire time.  So...I think we're going to wait a bit longer for the next feature film, or at least find the family schedule where the previews are cut out completely for our next attempt.

Easter Egg Coloring Time

We had our first egg coloring morning on Sunday.  We didn't attempt anything too fancy, but the kids had fun dropping the eggs into the solid color dye, and then covering them with stickers and crayon drawings.  They are getting ridiculously excited for the Easter Bunny to visit on Sunday!

T-Ball Saturdays

With Jake's T-ball schedule all over the place each Saturday, it certainly feels like we're planning our weekends around the games these days.   Jake is getting into it now, although basketball is still his number one pastime.   Josh was the head couch this week, as our main guy was traveling.  Go Rangers!

Spring Fling at Sprouts School

Our co-op at Sequoia Parents Nursery School really does a nice job of putting together great seasonal celebrations for the entire family.  Today was the Spring Fling, with crafts, Easter egg hunts, treats and a cake walk.  All three of the kids had a great time and the weather was spectacular too.

The baskets that Teacher Anghelika made out of egg cartons were just brilliant- each kid knew when they had picked up twelve eggs since their basket was "full", and they were adorable too!!

Sprouts Class

The girls always have very busy Tuesdays, going to two co-ops.  They were REALLY happy and interactive with the other kids at both schools today.   Here is some of the fun they had in their Sprouts class today:

Bunny Brunch at SCU

We headed down to Santa Clara for the annual Bunny Brunch this weekend.   While fewer friends from my class attended this year, we still saw a few, and it was a gorgeous day for a little Easter egg hunting.   I always forget just how beautiful the Santa Clara campus is, but it is truly gorgeous.  I'm excited already for my 15 year reunion this fall!
