Happy Almost Halloween!
We went to another Halloween party this past weekend, so I caught a few more cute pics of the kids in their costumes. By the time Wednesday comes around, we are certainly going to be ready for Halloween to be over I think! Here we are: Jakey as Bumblebee Rescue Bot, Colbie as the sassy zebra and Addison as the calm flower.
Love this pic of Jakey making his silly cross-eyed face at me, while wearing that hilarious "helmet"!

Benny Bolger and Khloe Koontz time!
Today we headed down to Gilroy Gardens to meet up with our great friends The Bolgers and The Koontz'. Jake and Benny B wanted to wear their costumes, which was so cute to watch (especially when they continued to hold hands throughout the day as we moved from ride to ride). Little Khloe Koontz kept up with the boys pretty well, and was darling in her Halloween tee.

Halloween Party at School
Today was the Halloween party at Jakey's school. As expected, Jake was excited about his costume (oh yes...he got a SECOND costume), but when I went to put it on him this morning he freaked out. But, as we were finally heading out the door, he stopped mid-step and decided that he was ready to put his costume on. So, back inside we went and threw it on. He didn't want to see himself in the mirror, or have me ooh and ah over him in his costume, but he did look awfully cute and happy. The best was in the car on the way to school he was putting on his Bubblebee Rescue Bot mask, and he couldn't quite figure out where the eye holes were supposed to go- see picture below. Anyways, apparently he kept his outfit on all day long, which was a big surprise. When we got there for the party, he was still running around pretending to be a Rescue Bot. I got to man the pumpkin bowling booth (that's the fun job I got as the sucker room mom), but Jake had a great time running around.
Here Jake's old teacher Jaquoline painted his face. He thought that he couldn't smile/talk/laugh afterwards or the paint would get messed up, so he really was walking around like a robot with this face!

First Playhouse!
As the girls are starting to sit up really well on their own, it was time to find some new toys to keep them occupied and happy. So I found this great little playhouse that they can sit in at Costco. Jake and I put it together, and the girls really love it. The thing is, Jake thinks the playhouse if for HIM too. This is what happens when he gets home from school and one of the girls is in the playhouse- he jams himself in their with her! It's very sweet, but I'm foreseeing some serious sharing issues in the near future as the girls starts crawling and grabbing things!

School Picnic
Last Saturday while Josh was at the Big Game, I ventured out with all three kids to Jake's yearly school picnic. As most of his best best buddies moved up to the next room recently, he doesn't get to play with them very often any more. So he was extremely excited to run around and play with his good friends, while I tried to keep up with the double stroller running after them. All of the other parents thought I was nuts attempting to bring all three out on my own, but having them outside, is SO much easier than being cooped up all day long inside. Here is Jake eating lunch with some of his best friends who he no longer gets to see very often: Talin, Louie, and Jullian.

Halloween Party #1
Somehow we have quite a few Halloween festivities on our calendar in the next 10 days. We started off this fun holiday with a party with the Parents of Multiples Group on Sunday morning. As it was literally a block away from our home, we just couldn't pass up crafts, balloons, magicians and face paint. Plus, the chaos of seeing 30+ families with twins plus siblings all in one room, is something truly amazing to behold. So, we got everyone in costume (oh yes, as expected, it was some serious negotiation with Jakey to get into Spiderman, although once in it, he had a great time!). Here are a few pics from the day!

Getting Ready for Halloween!
Josh had to go to the Big Game yesterday, so I was alone with the kids all day. I had to get creative with things to keep them all busy all day long. So, I went the Halloween preparation route, and I'm absolutely thrilled that Jake seems to be getting into the Halloween spirit this year!! He sat with me for a good hour carving and decorating pumpkins. Earlier this week he helped put up cobwebs, and we even put together a haunted house together. The test will be Sunday morning when we have our first dress up event...really hoping that he DOES get into his Spiderman costume!!
As for the pumpkin this year, Jake got to pick the theme, and of course, Superman was the first thing out of his mouth. So, here it is!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Addy and Colbie!
To think that half a year has already flown by is just amazing. Addison and Colbie are growing up so fast already, and life is zooming by, as we just try to get through these crazy days. Today is a great reminder to just stop for a moment and take in the here and now, as these babies are going to be crawling and walking in no time.
We go to the Doctor this afternoon for their 6 month checkup, so stats will be posted later. But here they are at six months!
Colbie Eileen:
- Still doesn't love tummy time, but she is doing very well at sitting up on her own for short periods of time. I think she is going to be sitting for awhile and then go straight to walking, but we'll see.
- She LOVES to eat her new solid foods. She gulps down every bite
- She is a back sleeper, and overall is a very good sleeper overnight
- She is generally smiling most of the time, showing off her two new teeth
- Her happy place is most definitely in the jumper activity thingy

Addison Rose:
- Addy loves tummy time still, and now has a super strong neck and back from constantly doing the superman move (lifting arms and legs off of the floor while on her tummy).
- She loves to look at magazines and books, turning and crinkling pages
- She is quite the chatter box still. She makes this funny growling sound that makes her sound angry, but it's her happy noise. She likes to sit and observe what is going on, and gurgle away.
- She is the sensitive sister to visitors currently, generally getting upset quite easily with anyone that isn't me, Josh or Heissel (our amazing nanny)
- Addy still struggles with sleeping all the way through the night, as she is a tummy sleeper and constantly is rolling around trying to get comfortable
