The girls, Lee Lee and I went on a little tour of a local fire house through our mother's group today. The firemen were called away twice during our tour, which was exciting to watch, but hard to wait for them to return. All of the firemen were incredibly friendly and good with all of the little kids, and I know we all had a nice time learning about what they do.

Gymnastics Time again
The girls and I are back enrolled in gymnastics class through the rec department. We tried out some real gymnastics schools, and the instructors were way too intense for my shy girls. So...we're back to the bars, trampolines and mats at our local youth center. They like it though...can't you tell!

Safe Travels to Tia Erica
It has been a wonderful summer having Tia Erica home, along with Hassan. We're crossing all of our fingers and toes that she will be home for the holidays again this year, but she is still unclear about her teaching schedule for the fall. We certainly will miss her though!
One of the last fun projects the girls did with Tia this trip was make slimeeeeeee
Go Pirates!
I think we're four games into the soccer season this year, and Jake scored his first goal yesterday. He was totally fearless the entire game, getting right in front of the enormous kids on the other team to block their shots. It was a very proud moment for us yesterday! I of course missed taking a picture of the actual goal, as I was jumping up and down and screaming....opps. next time!

More Jumping!
After our find last week, we had to go back to Rock n' Jump again yesterday and show Tia Erica all of the fun before she heads home. It was a blast yet again, with even less kids this time. Just amazing!
Look at Tia's moves!

Tia's trick show...wow!

BA Fun
We had a bunch of fun at BA this weekend. Friday night was Bingo & Burrito night at school. While Bingo was a little too complicated for A & C, Jake and Josh were totally into it. Addy of course is the one who won, and boy did her getting a prize in front of all of those people cause Colbie to freak out! Yikes!
Sunday was school clean up day. We definitely want to instill in our kids the importance of volunteering and giving back to our community. So we brought all three kids up to the school, grabbed the trash picker tongs and had a nice morning together beautifying their school. The kids actually had a really good time!

Jumping Fun and Dressing Up
Yesterday Lee Lee and I brought the girls to a special Toddler Times at Rock In Jump. Jake has now gone to many birthday parties there, and the girls have continually asked when it would be their turn to give it a try. Well...Toddler Times is the best discovery ever. There were maybe 8 kids in the entire large trampoline warehouse for the entire two hours, so it basically felt like we had the place to ourselves! The girls had such a kick out of jumping, playing in the foam pits and throwing the basketballs. We'll be going back sometime soon!
And it seems that the girls are finally interested in playing DRESS UP!!! I pulled out every kid costume we have, and the girls jammed themselves into every single one of them over and over again, including the ones for one year olds. I have many, many memories of playing dress up in our special dress up theater room at my parents house. I certainly hope that the interest sticks!

Happy Birthday Granddad!!
We are wishing Granddad a very, very HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!! We look forward to spending some time with you today to celebrate! We Love you.
Had a great brunch celebration for my Dad today. He is an avid banana eater, hence the banana theme that my sister made for the decor....

Art Fair Time
Growing up on Kings Mountain, Labor Day weekend was a really, really special holiday. As a kid it meant hiking up to the local fire house to run around the Kings Mountain Art Fair and spend most of the weekend in the kids area called Kiddy Hollow. As we grew up, we volunteered daily around the Fair in the food booth, cookie booth, Kiddy Hollow, etc. My parents were of course very involved in running this community lead Fair as well, so the build up to the weekend was also always exciting too. Our house was generally a party every night as well, as friends from the Bay Area would come by after the fair and hang out and eat. I took the three kids up to the Art Fair this morning, and brought them to Kiddie Hollow to play. It was quite a trip down memory lane watching Jake make spin art, and play games. I didn't get to really shop the fair because the kids of course were not interested, but maybe next year!
We had to indulge in the enormous cookies from the cookie booth that my Mom started way back some 30 years ago to support our local Kings Mountain School. They still taste delicious!!
