Shower for Tia Lindsay

This past weekend, I helped throw Tia Lindsay her last bridal shower before her Big Day. We had a traditional tea party at a hilarious tea house over near Golden Gate Park.

Hide and Seek

Jake is just figuring out what the whole Hide-and-Seek game is all about. Usually it's quite obvious where he is, but he has started to give me a few panic moments of "where is he????" with this new game that he loves to play.

Stuffed Animals

Jake hasn't really ever been super interested in stuffed animals...until now. He previously would play with one for a day, and then leave it somewhere and forget about it. Well...NOW he loves his stuffed animals. He took them ALL out and lined them up this weekend, and we found out that he practically has an entire zoo! He now loves to sit right in the middle of all of them, and count, sort and talk to them.

Field Trip to the Bus Terminal

Yes...you read that right. Jake's class took a field trip across the street to the SF Bus Terminal last week. Now...if you haven't heard, Jake is OBSESSED with buses, so I knew that he was going to be heaven. I tried to get off work to tag along, but of course, major website issues occurred right at the time I would need to leave, so I missed it. Jake's friend Arthur's Mom did go however, and caught these cute pictures of Jake and Arthur sitting on a big bus for the first time...SOO adorable!

I'm pretty sure that at this point in life, Jake's dream job is to be a bus driver!!

Baseball Day

Friday was baseball day at Jake's school, so we pulled out the Giants jersey from last year, and it finally fits him...yeah! Jake, along with 80% of his class arrived in Giants gear, with the remainders in Oakland As or Yankees outfits. Pretty cute!

Harmonica

For anyone with a little one around 2 years old, I highly recommend that you buy a 0.99 cent harmonica. We got the idea from Hunter Moulds, and Jake picked up on how to play it immediately. It's easy to make music that actually sounds nice!!

Loving the Guitar

Jake is just loving his guitar these days...well...any musical instrument really. Who knows if he will continue to show interest as he grows older, but these days, playing music and dancing around are a must every day. Who knows...maybe Jakey will be taking guitar classes from Uncle Mike someday soon!

Play time with Hunter

This past weekend was filled with play dates with friends. Saturday night we went to the Moulds' house for pizza and playtime. Hunter is racing around now, so it's so fun watching the boys interact. Hunter tried many times to give Jakey plenty of kisses and hugs...he is such a love bug!

Play date with Taylor

We had a quick lunch play date with the Schofields on Saturday. Josh has literally known Billy since birth, and Jake and Taylor are 3 days apart in age. We don't see them nearly enough, so it was great to see the two kids together. Jake took to Taylor immediately, and Taylor took to Jake's rocking horse (sharing is so hard at this age...lots of tears over the horsey on Saturday!).

Baby Elton?

So, Jake is now very interested in sunglasses...he put these on (given to him from his buddy Hunter Moulds) and I caught this pic....um...does he not look like a mini Elton John? Too funny!

Rainy Day Fun

With all of this wet weather, we've had to come up with some new play ideas to keep our very busy little man occupied and happy. On Sunday I hauled in the tent that Jake hadn't used since his 1st birthday party, and set it up in his room. With the tunnel and all of the balls inside, it turned into quite the hit!

Dinner Date

That is, a dinner date...for Jake! Saturday night Jake had a dinner date with one of his favorite ladies, Tessa from upstairs. They both were treated to Tessa's Papa's homemade chicken pot pies. Seated next to each other, they definitely had some great dinner conversation and finished up with a little hand holding.

Reunion Day

Yesterday we got together with some of my closest friends from college and their kids for a big play date. We're trying to get together more often these days, so we all met up in Los Gatos (half way between SF for us and Monterey for the Bolgers). The boys had a great time running around the playground, and adorable little miss Khloe sat on her blanket and watched the crazy boys. I took way too many pictures to put up on the blog, but here are a few:

Jake's got another girlfriend

Our good friends Julie and Francis were up from Santa Barbara today for a wedding this weekend. The best time for a quick visit was actually an early breakfast at our place on Friday morning. Well...it took a few minutes for the little ones to remember each other, but soon Jake was screaming for "Zoe come here and play". It was super cute, watching her, with her fantastic head of curls, chasing Jake down the hallways. We were sad that it was such a short visit, but it was great to see them and to see how much Zoe has grown.

Riley Time!

Jake finally got some play time with his buddy Riley on Sunday. We met up with Marc and Allie in Emeryville, and both kids did really well all through lunch. Afterwards the two little ones had an absolute ball running around outside together. They were holding hands, and hugging, and Jake kept insisting on Riley to "come here Riley". It was so incredibly sweet to watch, and I just know that they are going to be super good friends....both very active, chatty, happy kids.

Ridiculous things we'll do as parents...

Some times, it's crazy to sit back and look at the ridiculous things that we now do as parents. Erica was over on Saturday morning and she caught us on tape. Jake is crazy about tunnels right now, and so we brought one out, and he called for Mama and Dada to get into it with him...well...needless to way, it was WAYYYY too small for all of us:

Palace of Fine Arts

Recently the Palace of Fine Art has undergone some major renovation, so we decided to walk over and see how it looks yesterday. Wow...they did an AMAZING job. It's really a must see for all visitors to SF...and even us locals are super impressed. There is tons of lawn to run around on for the kids, and birds/ducks/swans to look at. It's a great picnic spot as well.

21 Today!

21 Months that is...it's here, Jake is 21 months old today!

Eating: different every day, but lately he wants to eat all day long...growth spurt potentially?

It's Bubble Time!

Yes...it was time to once again take those classic bubble pictures. Bubbles just make everyone happy, and I just could resist capturing this moment. Bath time has turned into a full blown half hour activity these days...toys, bubbles, pretend play...it's quite an end to the day!

Jake's new food obsession

Yes...he has a new food obsession. His teachers kept telling me that he was very interesting in his friend Jordan's food, especially this one item. I finally found it at Trader Joes...it's dried seaweed!!! It's crazy...I would never, ever has picked it out, nor attempted to give it to Jake, but he is obsessed. The first thing he said this morning was "more seaweed Mama?". So crazy!

Josh's good friend Charlie just sent this great picture taken at his wedding last July. Jake was only 14 months old (JUST had learned to walk), but he was out on the dance floor the minute the music started. The photographer got this cute pic of Jake dancing in the middle of the dance floor. We can't wait to see what he does at Lindsay and Jonathan's wedding!!
