Bubble Lady at school

Friday the Crazy Bubble Lady came to perform at Jake's school. I was lucky enough to have some time to go over and sit with him for the performance. In general, Jake loved it, and wanted to crawl right up on stage with her much of the time. Great start to the 3 day weekend!

Parent/Teacher conference #2

Every 6 months, Jake's daycare requests a Parent/Teacher conference in which we can discuss the development of each child, as well as expected next steps.
Here is Jake's second "report card" of sorts. Our favorite section is "Special strengths- Personality factors- Jake is happy, vocal, outgoing, social, friendly and explorative. He smiles often and he likes to express his excitement with his loud voice. Jake is a chatterbox, but he can get upset if he hears his friends talk too loud near him. Jake is comfortable with people around him and he can be the one to bring happiness to people around him too. Jake will seek help from teachers when he does encounter issues with peers, and can move quickly to the next activity after solutions have been reached. Jake is focused and likes to take time to move from one activity to the next."

Walking with help...

Jake wants to walk while holding on to our fingers, as many hours a day as possible now. He is gaining balance daily as well as gaining confidence.

Standing on his own!

Yep...in the last few days Jake has learned to stand on his own, for a good 20-25 seconds. We're, of course, totally impressed and excited, as it seems that walking is just getting closer and closer!

Wonderful day with friends

We had a great picnic get together with some of my old college girlfriends and their babies. Three of us lived together directly after college, and then we had babies within 5 months of each other....all boys no less. We're sure that the boys will grow up to be great friends, but in the mean time, it's fun to get together and watch them grow.
It was also wonderful to see Ms. Katie Rendler and her fantastic fiance Ben (an early congrats to Ben for completing his year at Stanford!).

Here are the three stooges: Ben Bolger (10.5 months), Jake Drogin (14.5 months) and Jake Goines (11.5 months)

Will Drogin (3 years) joined the boys for this one:

The Moms- Christina Beck Drogin, Jenifer Jacobs Bolger and Me

Jake and his favorite non-family babysitter!

Our wonderful friend Kim helped us out last week watching Jake when Grandma Lee Lee was in Hawaii. She has a wonderful way with kids, and Jake just absolutely adores her.
You're the BEST Kim Darcy!!!

Band-aids!

Oh boy...Jake had his first fall requiring a band-aid this weekend! Yep...he went head first directly into the corner of our coffee table (yes, Granddad Jon, you were right to be worried about those corners!). It was incredibly sad to watch it all happen (Josh was not home), and see the blood. In the end, Josh has assured me that it did not require stitches, and that this is the first for many, many bloody foreheads. But I felt so BAD for him!! =(

Escape the fog...

While it was a gorgeous weekend everywhere else, good old San Francisco was fogged in the entire time. We decided to escape the fog on Saturday, so we went over to Walnut Creek to visit Tia Lindsay and Jonathan. It was BEAUTIFUL over in WC, and downtown is just absolutely darling. We had a nice lunch, and then spent a bit in the best children's park ever! Jake showed Tia how well he is walking, by pushing his stroller around and around in circles, screaming with excitement!

Wonderful First Mother's Day

Wow...it has been a wonderful first Mother's Day, thanks to my wonderful boys!!! Josh outdid himself today, running around doing all of my normal chores, as well as making sure that I was having an enjoyable day. Some how all of this great stuff all took place on my first Mother's Day: Slept in (7:30am is sleeping in in my household!), went to a great brunch, went shopping, baked a bit, played and played with my endlessly energetic and joyful son, was made a wonderful Josh Special for dinner and showered with fun gifts. What more could have I have possibly asked for?
Thanks for being the best husband and father I could have ever wised for Josh!!

Early Mother's Day with Nana and Granddad

Jake and I celebrated an early Mother's Day with Nana Fredrikson today, while Josh played golf with the boys. It was a beautiful day to head up to Kings Mtn and down to Half Moon Bay for some lunch. It was great to watch both my Dad and Mom play with Jake...pure joy for all parties I believe =)
I look forward to my first Mother's Day tomorrow, and then to celebrate with Grandma Lee Lee when she gets back from her travels.

How Jake now greets everyone coming to visit...

Jake has started greeting everyone who comes to the door:
He checks to see who it is-

He says HELLO!-

He says a sad good-bye-
