Easter Morning

The day began for the Easter Bunny up at 5am, just to beat the kid crowd's early wake up time.  So, eggs were hidden outside while it was still dark outside and the rain was pouring down.  Fresh muffins were made and ready and waiting for everyone, as well as a LOT of goodies!!   Everyone was up by 6am, and Jake immediately noticed that there were eggs hidden around the house.   Jake didn't actually notice the eggs littered around our backyard until about 8:30, at which point, he put on his shoes and ran outside, even though it was pretty wet still.  Poor Colbie and Addy were very upset about not being able to go outside and find eggs with Jakey (will be so fun next year!).
The goodies look especially crazy because Nana and Granddad left baskets for the kids before they left for Morocco (thanks again Mom- everyone loved them!)

Happy Easter!!

We wish you all a wonderful Easter!

We are thinking of my parents and sister today, as they explore the Sahara desert together- we miss you! (picture sent from them today in the desert):

Early Easter Fun

Lee Lee and Grandpa Bill invited us up to an Easter celebration at the Los Altos Country Club today and we all had a great time.   We got the girls dressed up in kind of their first fancy dresses ever (so fun to shop for and dress them today!) and headed up there after nap #1 of the day.   Just as we arrived the sun came out, which was just lovely.   The Club did a nice job with endless kid activities and a buffet lunch.  Jake was in heaven with the dance floor, cookie table, egg hunt and grandparent attention.  The girls actually did quite well as well...I was definitely expecting tears for the Easter Bunny, but everyone held it together surprisingly.
Addy and Colbie both claimed an egg right away when the hunt began- pretty cute to see how proud they both were for finding one (Addy is in the white dress, Colbie is in the yellow dress)

Jake found the balloon lady and had a pirate sword and belt made!

Easter Eggs!

Jake is very excited about Easter this year, so we had to finally decorate some eggs.  Jake didn't want to dye them, but instead, covered them with drawings and stickers.   He was very specific about which one was for Addy, and which one was for Colbie, which was so sweet.  This coming weekend is going to be filled with endless fun.  We can't wait!

The Celebrations Continued...

After the fun celebration in the morning on Saturday, we headed to our friends Carrie and Jay's twin daughters 2nd birthday party.  They have given us much advice along the way regarding twins, as they are just over a year ahead of us, so it is always fun to see their girls.   Madison and Taylor are just darling, and SO well behaved and mellow.  For the party, Carrie did a super cute, homemade Sesame Street theme, with a big Elmo jumpy house.  Jake literally jumped for almost 3 hours straight, he was in pure heaven the entire party.  It was great to see some of our old Intel friends as well.   It was a great party, and I'm totally inspired to get cracking on themes and ideas for the kids upcoming birthdays!!

Here I am with Carrie and Shannon- so nice to see these ladies, as I saw so much of them for the first few years out of college working together at Intel. Crazy how life has changed in 13 years!!
Papa took Colbie and Addy into the jumpy house when the big kids weren't inside- and as you can see, they loved it!!!

First Birthday Party Celebrations Already!

Today was a really fun filled day.  We started the day with a group 1st birthday party for the Mom's group that I'm in, for all of the March and April babies.  We had a music class together, and then a picnic/playtime lunch afterward.  The Dads and older siblings joined us for the lunch, and Jake actually made a great new friend.   Music class was really fun with the girls.  It's based off of Music Together, which we used to take Jake to when he was little, so the girls actually were familiar with many of the songs already.  They spent most of the time in the middle of the circle, vs sitting with me, but that was just fine with me.  It's always nice to see that they aren't too sheltered and shy from being at home with our wonderful nanny, vs being in school as Jake was starting at 3 months old.  Of the 14 babies who came to the celebration, Colbie is the only one walking, which was quite a surprise.  Everyone was very excited to watch her go, and she was so proud to show off.   Josh go along great with many of the Dads too, so it really was a great celebration!

A & C are 11 Months Old!

Wow...I can't believe that in only a month, I'll be writing that the girls are turning 1 year old.   It's amazing how time zooms by.  Here they are are 11 months.  It's getting more and more impossible to get them in the same picture, and even more rare to catch them both smiling, although, they are incredibly happy babies.   We are just having so much fun playing with them at every moment that we get, as their little personalities and giggles just brighten our days.

Colbie: The poor girl has gone through about 6 weeks of illness, so she has lost weight at this point, although her cheeks are still of significant size and are the clear giveaway as to which one she is.   She has become a wonderful napper for the moment, as well as good sleeper at night, wahoo!  She is walking short distances, and gaining confidence every day.  She loves to open all drawers and cabinets, and to pull out all items inside.   She is very interested in books, and is already quite good at turning pages all by herself.

Addison:  Addison just eats anything you put in front of her currently, so she has gained some weight and nears her sister now I think.  She loves to climb into and over things right now, always moving, moving, moving.  Anytime a door is left open, she is the first one through to go off and explore.  She continues to sprint to the stairs at all possible moments, and has gotten really fast at climbing up them.  She is still quite emotional, and very vocal when she is worried or upset.  Her favorite new game is to play catch- she already loves to throw balls, much to Josh's extreme excitement!
