Sick House!

Oh boy...what a weekend!   We had planned a really fun and rare day and night away on Saturday with some of our dearest friends, but, Josh woke up with a bad case of the flu that morning.  He was literally stuck in bed all day and night, so the kids and I got to play and have fun.  My Mom picked up Jake in the late afternoon, and had a blast with him until he started getting sick...yes, he too, got the flu! 
Needless to say, the weekend did not go as planned, but I did get some serious quality time with my favorite baby girls.  They are at such a fun, cuddly, giggly stage!
It's amazing how the silliest things can provide hours of fun- this box kept everyone busy for quite awhile!

Tickle Time

It was tickle time on Sunday afternoon while we hung out in the sunniest room in the house:

A & C are 10 Months Old!

Things are getting more and more crazy in the Goines' household with Addison and Colbie now 10 months old!   They are both speed crawling everywhere, pulling up on anything and everything, and determined to open every cabinet and drawer in their path.  So far, no safety lock has actually stopped them...so if you have any recommendations, let us know!

Colbie:  at 10 months, she weighs 18lbs, 10oz and is still quite the little firecracker.  She has 3 full teeth, and 4 half way in, so she is constantly biting on everything these days.  Besides the double ear infection that she had this month, she has been extremely happy, and is moment away from walking.  She is so proud of herself when she stands alone, and has taken a single step multiple times- so toddling around will be any moment!  Her favorite new foods are honeydew melon, broccoli and cheese.

 Addison:  At 10 month old, she weighs 18lbs, 2oz.  She has 2 full teeth, but 3 others half way in as well.  She is just getting used to walking with the little baby walker, but really hasn't tried much standing up on her own, or actually walking for that matter.  Addison is very good with her hand coordination already though.  She claps well, picks up single small foods perfectly, and has started to wave hello.  She is just as curious as her sister, and actually lead the charge up the stairs for the first time last week (ahhhh!!!). 

My Welcome Home

It's hard to capture, but my welcome home each evening now is Addison and Colbie waiting at the window.  It's absolutely the best way to come home, and I love that they are just starting to learn how to wave.  So cute!

Oakland Zoo

We headed to the Oakland Zoo yesterday (along with half of the Bay Area we think!).   It was so nice to have the sunshine out!

Bath Time!

Addison and Colbie are finally big enough to play in the bathtub together.  They love it!

Great V-Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day yesterday!  The kids awoke to a few little gifts, which started the day off with all of them happy.  Jake had a great day at school celebrating "Friendship Day", and came home with lots of little Valentine's cards from his classmates, as well as a funny card for us (see below).  Josh surprised me with flowers delivered to work- what a guy.  And then I came home to two adorable and happy babies in these adorable outfits (thanks again to Tia Lindsay for the dresses!).  As Thursdays are my parent's day to have a few hours of playtime with Jake, they stayed for a couple of extra hours of playtime, allowing Josh and I to actually have a Valentine dinner date!

Kane Family Drop In

After we hit the beach on Sunday, we dropped in to our wonderful old neighbors home for a quick visit.  There is something about our old building that Jake still considers home, so he can't get enough of going to play at the Kane's home.  Little Tessa Kane is just growing so fast and was too adorable in her purple tutu! 

Beach Time

We had a very busy Sunday, and smack in the middle of the crazy list of things we had to do, we fit in an hour long stop at our favorite beach at the Marina Green.  Addison and Colbie hadn't ever been there, and really hadn't ever truly experienced a beach for that matter (they were just to little and cold to enjoy the beach at Seascape last August).   Well, the girls were SO excited and happy to crawl around and play, and eat handfuls of sand.   It was crazy watching two crawl in opposite directions, Jake running for the water, and endless dogs jumping all around the kids!   Fun stop, but definitely need to be better prepared with toys and play stuff to keep all 3 entertained and contained together next time.

 

Family Day at the Museum

Yesterday we headed to the San Jose Discovery Museum for some fun family time.  Jake had an absolute blast.  In another 6 months, the girls will also very much enjoy this place too!
