As previously mentioned, we had a Girl's Night mini birthday celebration early last week, which started off my Birthday week excellently! Of course, Jake was the star of the show. Brie just sent pictures of the evening which I wanted to share. I can't wait for these awesome ladies start having babies!!!!

First Annual Costanoa weekend

We had an AWESOME day yesterday!! We met up with the Drogin, the Bolger and the Sinkula/Reynaud families at Costanoa for our first annual summer trip. It was a gorgeous, sunny day along the coast, and we had such a fun time. We hiked down to the beach, and had a great picnic. Jake has really turned into a beach boy...he LOVED running around the sand, straight into the freezing water! Needless to say, he was covered in wet sand, but it was so fun to watch him as a mobile kid at the beach for the first time. We definitely need to get him swim lessons ASAP, as he would have gone straight into the ocean to swim if we weren't careful.

It was great seeing all of my old friends as well! Many thanks to Brie, Mike, Jen, Jeff, Jason and Christina for ending my Birthday week perfectly!! Can't wait until next year!

Early Birthday

We just finished up a wonderful early Birthday dinner for me with my parents. My Dad came into SF after a very busy day, WITH dinner. They brought many wonderful, generous gifts as well. Jake knew that there was something exciting going on, as he was in excitable spirits all evening long.

The day started with a surprise early birthday breakfast party at work from my team as well, so all in all it was a GREAT day! =)

First of all...I'm SORRY for missing so many days of blogging. It was a crazy weekend, with sadly, very little family/relaxation time.

I had a great start to my birthday week on Monday, with a fun Girl's Night + Jake. The ladies came over with dinner and dessert, and we had a mini celebration. Of course, Jake was much of the entertainment for the evening, showing off his new walking skills. The Girls were trying to teach him cheers like "Hurray" and "Yeah". Well...Tuesday night he wouldn't stop cheering. Here is a glimpse of what we witnessed all evening long:

Wrestling with Granddad

Sunday Jake and I went to yet another birthday celebration. Zanette, who is kind of a surrogate Grandma for Erica and I, as well as a Kings Mountain legend, turned 96!! Pictures of her and Jake are coming!
My Dad had a wonderful time, as always, wrestling around with Jake.

Yes and No

Jake has now learned to nod his head for Yes and shake his head for No. Generally he throws his body into either direction when he does it though, and sometimes knocks himself over. I caught him doing it here, withOUT falling over:

He's WALKING!!!

Yep...he has been trying for awhile now...but tonight Jake actually made it across the room multiple times!!! WAHOO!!! Jake Tyler Goines has started to WALK at 13 months and 8 days old!!
Papa is attaching more foam to our furniture as I write this...as our Little Man is now VERY dangerous!!!

Saturday morning we headed down to Monterey to celebrate Ben Bolger's 1st Birthday Party! Jen put on a great pirate theme party to celebrate. Jake LOVED seeing little Ben, and also enjoyed wearing his pirate shirt and bandanna!

13 months old today...

yep...the months are flying by now!! Jake is already 13 months old today!

He is finally brushing his teeth with Mama in the morning and night...pretty cute to watch him do such a Big Boy task! =)

P.S....I found my first grey hair today!!! AHHHH!!! It was sticking straight up this morning, smack in the middle of my head!

Fun day with friends

Today we had a great day! Our friend Lindsay Brown was in town from Arizona, staying with Shannon and Zach. They all came up to the city for an afternoon of walking around. We threw Baby Koontz (due at the end of August) a very mini surprise baby celebration. We ended up walking around much of the afternoon, and had a nice dinner out as well. Jake was a champ, and we just loved seeing Lindsay, Shannon and Zach!!! Many congratulations to the parents-to-be!
